BELIEVE IN THE POWER AND SPIRITS OF BRIDGES
AN ORGANIZATION OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION BY THOSE WHO
Infinity Institute is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote mutual understanding in legal and compliance related culture and practice between U.S. and China. In the past several decades, the world has witnessed accelerating pace in science and technology exchange between U.S. and China. And the two countries’ economy has also become deeply integrated and sophisticatedly intertwined, to the extent that U.S. and China are co-dependent on each other in a broad range of development areas. However, what largely lags behind is mutual understanding in legal and compliance related area. The lack of communications at the institutional and cultural levels, among other factors, has triggered devastating legal consequences and stirred unnecessary conflicts and distrust between US and China.
We believe in the power of communications on shaping perspectives and ideologies to form a more harmonious world. We believe that mutual understanding between U.S. and China comes from one-step-at-a-time hard work from both sides.
One of the primary goals of Infinity Institute is to raise awareness on relevant U.S. laws and policies that have extended jurisdiction in the rest of the world among the key stake holders. Comprehensive awareness training in the rationale, principle, enforcement and potential impact of relevant laws and public policies helps bridge understanding, manage risk, and prevent avoidable loss for the Chinese companies that operate in the states, and Chinese American scientists/business owners who conduct collaborative work across continents.
We believe that only if good understanding has been achieved among the key stake holders, true understanding among broader groups in the society can be reached.
As a policy advocacy group, we also strive to influence policy change on both sides to create a better institutional and cultural environment for the key stake holders and Chinese American community that hold heritage from both great powers of the world.
We have brought together a group of people with expertise and extensive experience in legal, compliance, diplomacy and international business, dedicated to build a bridge for the greater good.
THE CONSEQUENCES ARE REAL
Although China opposes US long-arm jurisdiction, often times the consequences are real when certain US laws are violated outside US territory. It is a priority for entities doing international business or cross-continental research to establish basic compliance programs for operational risk control.
OUR TRAINING PROGRAMS
Through workshops, conferences and online training programs, the Institute intends to help the business community from mainland China and Chinese Americans in the states understand the basics and operational risks pertaining to US anti-corruption laws, sanction laws, export control laws and anti-money laundering laws, etc…
